Hoods
Hoods is a collection of staged photographic portraits that reflect on social identity through the employ of suggestive costuming.
A series of motionless models are mannequin-like and form a foundation for the considered layers of garments and symbolism. Through the wearing of a disguise, the sitter finds duality between their human core and contrasting façade.
“Hoods” is inspired by the social commentary of British street artist Banksy, whose identity remains anonymous through street-wear disguises such as hoods and balaclavas.
